Vivace Bands at Holy Redeemer
for Home School and Private School Students Ages 9 - 14 Years Old
The Vivace Bands at Holy Redeemer school band instruction program is for beginning and Intermediate/Advanced students. Classes are taught by Mr. Hutcherson who has 30 years of teaching experience. Students may enroll in the Beginner class as a fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh or eighth grader 9 - 14 years old). The Intermediate/Advanced class is designed for students who have one year or more of public or private school band or once weekly private lesson instruction.
The beginning band .class begins at 3:40 p.m., intermediate band at 4:15 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays. Lessons are taught twice weekly for thirty minutes. Classes begin in August and continue throughout until mid to last May. We plan to have two concerts during the school year to demonstrate student progress.
What makes Vivace unique is the use of a home practice program that includes the use of Smart Music computer practice software at a once per year subscription cost or $40. The director monitors your child’s progress outside of the lessons each week using Smart Music. This is accomplished by setting up a practice plan and “listening” to selected assignments that your child performs into the computer at home, providing written feedback on his/her progress – all via the internet.
